Chat Policy:

Mito Chat is a service of YahooGroups. The focus of Mito Chat is to encourage adults and children affected by mitochondrial diseases and their families, friends and caregivers -- interactively -- to share points-of-view, experiences and similar interests. All Mito Chat participants must be subscribed to the Mito YahooGroup in order to gain access to the Mito Chat area.  The Mito Chat room is available at all times on the YahooGroups website and is not endorsed or monitored by the UMDF.  The UMDF may post specific chat times, special guests or topics of interest for a specific chat session.  However, the users of Mito Chat are entirely responsible and liable for all activities conducted, including the consequences of their own conduct through any association resulting from entering and/or using Mito Chat. The UMDF discourages users participating in online discussions from giving personal identifying information. The UMDF is not liable for situations encountered as a result of any user release of personal information online or off-line.

Mito Chat requires users to exercise courtesy, self-restraint and respect for other people and their points-of-view. Disruptive conduct, expressed hatred of any form, harassment or abuse, threats of any kind to persons/people and/or property, and/or obscene or sexually explicit material in conversation, topics or nicknames - will not be tolerated. The Mito YahooGroups Owner reserves the right to establish management, operations, content and participation policies for all online sessions and the right to take whatever action is required to resolve conflict, inappropriate behavior or any matter associated with Mito Chat based on its sole judgment and decision. Such action may include temporary or permanent removal and/or ban from Mito Chat.

The UMDF does encourage users to notify the Mito YahooGroups Owner if violations of the Mito Chat User Policy are encountered.

The UMDF does not manage or endorse Mito List Chat, but acknowledges that chat rooms are a popular and helpful form of support.  The UMDF therefore provides this information about Mito Chat as a service to it's members.  If you have any questions, problems or concerns with Mito Chat, please contact the Mito YahooGroups Owner.
