"One Step Closer to a Cure" 5K Walk/Run

Are you looking for a way to get your community involved in a special event for UMDF? If so, consider organizing a "One Step Closer to a Cure" 5K Walk or Run in your community. UMDF Chapters, Mito groups and families throughout the country have successfully organized Walk/Run events for UMDF. Nineteen 5K events took place in fiscal 2005 raising over $500,000 toward mitochondrial disease research. These events are a great way to educate the community about mitochondrial disease while raising important research funds.

The Special Events Department will provide you with checklists, timelines, sample letters and support through the event planning process.
